{"id":55,"date":"2020-11-19T23:34:32","date_gmt":"2020-11-19T23:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tipo.pt\/?page_id=55"},"modified":"2021-09-21T18:19:28","modified_gmt":"2021-09-21T18:19:28","slug":"homepage","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tipo.pt\/en\/","title":{"rendered":"Tipo.pt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The project Tipo.pt was founded by Catarina Figueiredo Cardoso and Isabel Baraona, and is dedicated to editions created by Portuguese artists, illustrators and designers, or related with Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>Tipo.pt aims to collect information on the largest number of books and other printed objects, produced in the context of contemporary art.<\/p>\n<p>The English version of the project comprises Tipo.pt database and the\u00a0<em>Portuguese Small Press Yearbook<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>www.Tipo.pt, still in development, is divided in two sections:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Editions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Periodicals and collections<\/p>\n<p>Each file is on a piece of work and contains photos, technical information, a short description and, when available, critical texts.<\/p>\n<p>Tipo.pt is an archive of affordable and democratic multiples. We are interested in books, magazines, brochures, posters, postcards, newspapers, etc. &#8211; being self-publishing, small press, artist\u2019s books, and fanzines, among other typologies. Printed projects in offset, digital and laser, engravings, letterpress, silk-screen and other printing techniques.<\/p>\n<p>We mention the libraries where the editions may be consulted.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Portuguese Small Press Yearbook (2013-2019)<\/em>\u00a0was a printed edition containing critical texts and pages created by contemporary artists. Between 2013 and 2019, the\u00a0<em>Portuguese Small Press Yearbook<\/em>\u00a0divulged the annual production of artists\u2019 books and self-publishing. Each issue also lists the academic and critic research on these subjects, as well as bookshops, libraries and collections where these works can be found.<\/p>\n<p>Catarina Leit\u00e3o and Ana Jo\u00e3o Romana, both artists, art teachers and researchers, joined the initial team. In November 2020 Tipo.pt became a project supported by LIDA \u2013 Laborat\u00f3rio de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Design e Arte (Research laboratory in Design and Art), a research Unit of IPLeiria, and it is funded by FCT \u2013 Foundation for Science and Technology in the context of UIDB\/05468\/2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Catarina Figueiredo Cardoso<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Isabel Baraona<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Reminder<\/u>: Tipo.pt is an academic research project. It was developed by Isabel Baraona during a post-PhD program at Rennes 2 University, and by Catarina Figueiredo Cardoso in the PhD program in Materialities of Literature at Coimbra University. Copyright of images and texts and the other contents of Tipo.pt belong to their authors (artists, designers, publishers, and the managers of Tipo.pt).<\/p>\n<p>Images and other mentions of works in Tipo.pt are under the free utilization of published work regime established by Articles 75 and 76 of the Portuguese Code on Copyright and Other Author\u2019s Rights.
